My name is Jeff, my web handle (I used to have a callsign, I couldn’t just walk away) is the MAAN, and for purposes of not being targeted by angry tenants I call out or other landlords who I make fun of, we’ll just refer to me as the MaanLord (you see what I did there, MAAN, landlord…get it?).
I have spent the better part of the last decade buying up houses, duplexes and fourplexes for investment purposes. I’ve done well over 150 rehabs, and sold quite a few too, but my goal was always to ‘hold for gold’. In 15 years or so, I will own a sizable portfolio of rental property free and clear, that is if I don’t sell parts of it before then to pay for annoying expensive stuff like college tuitions. Ideally though, I will be sitting pretty.
Eventually is the key word there, though, isn’t it? Unless you live in some Fantasy Cloud Cuckoo land full of magnificent properties that never break, tenants who never complain, and municipalities that don’t hound you when the grass is 4″ instead of 3″, being a property manager or landlord can be a rocky, stress filled existence. And it’s even more so if you don’t know what you are doing.
My goal is to help, by providing education, insight, and updates on some of the tips, tricks and tech being used by the industry to streamline and hopefully take a little bit of the pain out of rental property management.
